    hey melissa, sad girl is an awesome poem! it reminds me of a very good friend I have - present tense. she is finding herself in a situation where she probably feels she lost and all alone when in realtity she will always have me as a friend...but i guess thats why it fits her so well...she's sad right now. you've encouraged me to let her know that she can talk to me anytime. anyway i look forward to reading your peoms - they are very well written. thank you.

The Hill

Sheer petals cascade from the stretching arms of an aged dogwood tree,
Coming to rest upon the moss covered earth.
Familiar rocks protrude from the blushing hillside,
Providing a means of ascending into a wooded santuary.
So many times I've walked this path; So many times I've felt this soft earth beneath my feet.
The sunlight streams through the broken canopy of old trees towering above me.
I stride from rock to rock, climbing higher until I reach a tall maple tree.
