Michael Corrales Poems
If I could save the world you know I would I'd love to be the hero but only if I could. If I had to sacrifice to heal I'd do it with no regrets. Because that's what hero's do no matter the hell they get.
Why live today for a better after life? Why waste moments for a fate uncertain? We've been granted this existence. So shall we bow out before the final curtain?
A Good Thing
A sudden win unexpected cheer So here I begin into the future I peer.
My biggest fear I shall confess is that I will never know success. It's a badge I wear upon my chest.
Your musical green eyes still haunt my dreams. Ten years have passed, not enough time it seems. Last year I saw your picture, this year I heard your voice. Now I long to touch you, but its not like I have a choice.
The world is against me. It resents me. Never lets me Rest B.
The Real World
Take it back? Well I wish I could. Back to a time where life seemed good. When bright futures were promised by any means. But now bouncing checks is a daily routine.
My biggest fear I shall confess
is that I will never know success.
It's a badge I wear upon my chest.
My life has only dealt with stress.
As if I'm living by duress.
Any gains have been suppressed.
How did I get in this mess?
