My Love, More Than Words. (Sonnet)
What is it that speaks of a heart’s motive
Truer than a sincerest devotion?
For without an action, words do not live
But only die as calloused emotion.
Tragedy is that passion be wasted
Like grapes that are left to rot on the vine;
Sadly never by lips to be tasted
Or ever enjoyed for their worth divine.
So this I declare with driven resolve
Before my God and woman I adore;
To ever strive to see our love evolve
Beyond words and even a good deal more
And I dream of us in our golden years,
Very much in love, shedding happy tears.
