Etched on face, like flavors in an ancient wine,
kindness lines anoint her eyes, and wisdom
glance bedecks her face, this aged Gogo, whose
lived from way back then, and still tells stories
...

She sits alone, head bowed low
familiar pew and wordless prayer
the little candle says it all
lit with sense of faith and call
...

I seek in breasted stillness
to be suckled by the deeper sounds
that words can never say...
...

I wonder sometimes where we go
to find that road that leads beyond
and underneath the mystery flow
of deeper places in the pond
...

Cheeky gust of wind lifts her skirt
and leaves an autumn leaf upon her shoe.
She does not notice, she’s all alone;
sitting at the edge, sipping glass of wine.
...

Alone in lonesome pose, he sits and waits.
Face cupped in hands, not just this once,
and weary eyes that speak of tears long dried;
he’s far from home, the place he chose
...

Crucified and naked he hung upon the cross
they did not leave a single robe
that he could claim his own
his deeds untold, their lies unfold
...

Naked on the cross
exposed for all to see
a spectacle uncovered
defaced upon the tree
...

Death, O death you always seemed so far away
I lived with you as I do with each and every day
Unconcerned and unafraid I let you be
I noted not your faster pace, I did not see.

Truth hurts they say. That may be so.
Lies hurt too; a double blow.
For in the lie, a truth appears
and that is why the lie ensnares.
