she ascends poetic realms

Five o'clock. An afternoon of January.
The chimney is incandescent with fire:
Warmth, comfort, and pleasant mood.
The sun is slow, yet rapidly weaving good-bye

As I usually do,
I've spent my morning
Thinking of you;
Obsessively repeating,

Never enough—never fulfilled!
You always dream of another dream!
And as you search, and you don't find,
Your dear dream fades out of sight.
