Society's Slaves

As humans,
we are born programmed,
wired to run, to operate under society’s standards.
We hide behind our fake smiles,
our masks, our shell,
pretending everything is okay,
pretending our lives are going somewhere,
pretending that this putrid rock we call Earth isn’t infected with the horrors we
all know it is.

We live and breathe believing we are our own person.
This tyrant of a belief gives us a false sense of security, allowing us to keep marching,
keep our engines burning, and keep us believing we are not clones;
Puppets.
