Nathaniel Aaron Rypstra

The Travails Of Autumn

A leaf gently falls to the earth from more heavenly climes.
Drifting, listlessly, wishfully gliding, touching the warm earth.
The arboreal touch of its edges gently caressing the velvet grass.
Restful, pausing, the epiphany of peace and repose.
Yet, however sweet and rapturous its sabbatical,
The slumbering of leaves is short-lived, and breezy trials must soon come.
And they do come.
