Olanrewaju Kolade Poems
Bent But Not Broken
Deep within me I thirst for comfort But I wouldn't compromise Justice for its existence;
Attempt not to break my soul It is entangled in rigidity My soul is fertilized by fearlessness Stabbing the body might weaken me
Your lit face like a furnace Burns with extreme covetousness The tongue in your mouth Hungers for habitation
He dehumanized inhumanity By humanizing humanity He defeated defeat By strangling fear to death
Attempt not to break my soul
It is entangled in rigidity
My soul is fertilized by fearlessness
Stabbing the body might weaken me
But stabbing my soul is stupidity
On the part of my assailant
Tears may occupy my face
But my soul is as dry as a desert.
