A Vain Gain
Into a strange world i came,
A stranger in search for fame,
All things being the same,
I did get a name.
The name soon grew wide,
Creating in me a new pride,
A habit too evident to hide,
From those in whom i did confide.
Shunning all friends and populace,
Into a woman's arm i sought solace,
Thinking i had found a palace,
To enjoy away my grace.
But the woman was all fashion,
With not even an iota of passion,
Draining me to my last mansion,
And my subsequent gnashing.
