Phoebe Harris Poems
I never remember having to grow, Suddenly I was just born, I was here, Life was great until that loud ‘Oh no! ' My maker had accidently cut off my ear.
Roll Of A Dice
Your whole life can change with the roll of a dice, Get the wrong number and you may pay a price, The flip of a coin and landing heads or tails, Can be the difference between triumphs and fails,
A Best Friend
A best friend is someone who you'll be with forever, They'll come to your aid when needed whenever. They always forgive you, no matter what you do, A best friend is someone just like you.
Hiding, wrapped in my cloak of invisibility, Blockades surrounding me, I envisage silence. Not just quiet, But a silence so silent it consumes you.
Click, click. Books full of brick blocks of text, Full of inscrutable sentences, Full of jumbled letters, numbers, figures.
Petals float from white lilies, Settling softly, trampled upon by big black boots.
Eyes Open But Not Seeing
My feet pace out the journey, Eyes open but not seeing, The world passes me by, I don't look up, see the sky,
When I see you, just eight years old, So good, so innocent, pure as gold, Eyes dancing with exultant youth, Secure from darkness - secure from truth.
Roll Of A Dice
Your whole life can change with the roll of a dice,
Get the wrong number and you may pay a price,
The flip of a coin and landing heads or tails,
Can be the difference between triumphs and fails,
Impress someone with a card trick one night,
Five years later your life's going just right,
You're married, with a great job, house and kid,
Just because of that one night and what you did.
