(2.42) Cigarettes (Stealing Moments From Their Masters...) Comments

Rating: 2.8
They’re one of your few pleasures,
But they’re bad for you, you know...
You laugh at the statistics,
There’re more likely ways to go.

An excellent poem indeed, it speaks of a life of betrayal of those that were once thought of as true friends. It also speaks of the users one might encounter during ones lifetime, the masters, the pimps etc. It also talks about the shame one brings to their family, a wrong choice of lifestyle. When all is said and done, a cigarette may be the only true friend. This poem paints a rather dim outlook on those that are looking for something they can't find. I like this poem very much, thankyou. Melvina
