3 Poems: You Cant Always Get What You Want - Poem by Sandra Dodd

3 poems: You Cant Always Get What You Want
AND But You Can Try
AND You Get What You Need

Cant Always Get What You Want:

I want you to love me
for the me I am presently

I want you to like me
especially me

I want to be adored
all others forlorn

I want to be respected
reciprocally unequivocally

I want to be cherished
above all else you posess

I want to be endured
when I am thread bare

I want to be relished
in the most special hours

I want to be conspicuous
more than once in a while

This would be a marriage
made for you and me.
I think I need to leave.
I now realize
as it is now
it is as you please.

You seem to
have heard me.

you try to
love me
like me
pay attention

is where you
now lose me.

It does not seem
to be
suddenly adored
after so long

Tell me,
if you are
why now
intead of
all of then?

Did I suddenly become
Are you more
attracted to wrinkles
than the then of my
younger tight ass?
Did I grow funnier?
Or did I just outlive
your selfishness?

do tell
are you now
getting me
off the shelf?

You cant
get what you want
I told myself, then.
But now you want me?
What the hell?
Well you
can try,
but not sure
after all this time
I'm gonna buy
but you can try

You Get What You Need:

Do you
need me?
Do you
need to
possess me?

Am I off
that shelf
put me on
because thats
the way
to keep me?

I dont need
to be

What really
bothers me
I need you
I need you
to need me
Thats so weak
but its me

I need you
to be in
with having
you love me

Can we try that?

You cant always
get what you want
but you can try
sometimes you might find
you get what you need.

Captivating! Excellent poem Miss Sandra. Really very good. Unfortunately, though - it is one more reason to explain why women are from Venus. We really just want to finish the game first..... it's tied with three seconds to go at the goal line. We do indeed need you dear. It's just that we need you to be quiet for the next three seconds. After that we will happily nod our heads up and down as though we have some notion as to why we make you feel that way. And of course we do love you - (love being defined in Martian.) (Report) Reply

Another ones of yours, though they are one poem.I'm in the process of reading your poems, though you are prolific and am slow reader. There are emotions-feminine.A revolving door of emotions, or rather doorway of a woman exuberant with love. That being said, still some I how miss the punch lines of some of your poems.

Keep on regaling us.Resist the death of poetry.
