A Country In Distress Comments

Rating: 5.0
The year had passed and we suffered not the haze
Across the seas, the forests had ceased to raze
Nature celebrates with spring throughout the year
Life recuperates unhindered with skies clear

Yet our founding fathers are crying in their graves That's the condition of all underdeveloped countries who got independence from the imperialistic powers in the recent past.

most of the following has already been sent to Bro by Bri. i added a little bit at the bottom that is new. ===================================================================== favorite lines so far: 'Denizens of the night quietly moved by Their presence unknown but for a plaintive cry ' - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - i Googled and found something very interesting (to me anyway) : the second definition. 'den·i·zen 'den?z?n/ noun formal humorous.........[[this, Bri does NOT understand]] plural noun: denizens 1 an inhabitant or occupant of a particular place. 'denizens of field and forest' synonyms: inhabitant, resident, townsman, townswoman, native, local; More occupier, occupant, dweller; archaic burgher 'the denizens of Grant's Hollow were a quirky lot' 2 British historical a foreigner allowed certain rights in the adopted country. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - FINALLY we found out 'Why'..; (: (: ( Fantastic rhyming! i especially liked how 'graves' rhymed with 'graves'...........................FIVE TIMES. SOME might say six; i say five. to MyPoemList for sure! and THANKS so much for offering for my use January 2017's SHOWCASE, Section A, which is starting out as one of my/our best! ! bri :) ====================================== you typed enthral, which i thought looked ok. BUT when i was putting poem into showcase, enthral got underlined in red, so i Googled. It seems enthrall is correct, but for now i left the poem 'as is' with an explanatory Bri's Notes after it in the showcase. lf you ask/tell me to change it, i shall, and i will remove part of the Bri's Notes as well. ha ha ha. Have a happy new year.............if you can............and want to! bri ;)

Yo Bri, Enthral is English U.K.; while enthrall is English U.S. I have a U.S. laptop but I was English U.K. trained. Rather hard on me, when it's wrong to you; it's right for me. But the computer never seem to agree! Ha Ha Ha, what was that all about by the way?

I fear for our planet as the politicians gamble with the stability of the earth. Poor environmental choices that ultimately kowtow to the more greedy and more powerful corporations. Sadly the exquisite beauty you have penned so eloquently is at dire risk and would have our forefathers crying in their graves.....10
