A Day In The Sun Poem by Ruth L. Rivers

A Day In The Sun

Do you ever wonder what it would have been like
If all you had with worry was a moment of little bliss
And your days of sunny rainbows were never passing
Just one daily joy after another with all the benefits
But how does one discern all the delights of pleasure
Encompassed in life long fulfillment of hope and joy
Surrounded to bombardment in living happiness
Without abusing the offerings as cheap and dirty toys
Not to diminish the spectacular beauty of peace
Nor tarnish all splendors wrapped in living wonder
Each moment formed in its own breathtaking shape
Captured yet only to be released in time asunder
Grey cloudy skies will always assert their silver lining
And rain keeps ever vigilant of every swath of color
The brook claps its claim on each babbling shimmer
Still lakes reflecting still firmament hold to the other
Though few lives hold promise of peace in every day
Most look out upon the wilds and pain of their climb
To not only realize the angst but undiscovered joy
Each taking their turn to color the fabric of our time
