A Dreadful Night - Poem by Sneha Khedkar
Until eight in the evening,
Everything seemed to be fine.
But then some terrorists
Entered India through the coastline.
As ten people gained control
No one could do anything.
All were left watching
The shocking things happening.
It was all terrible.
I hoped it wouldn't be true.
I hoped it would be a nightmare
It was not, later I knew.
It was all very shocking
How could it be,
That ten people attacked our country
And we could only see?
How could they do this?
How could they be so insensitive?
That they could take away
From people their right to live.
Then some brave people,
Stood up to fight for the country.
And above all
To ensure everyone's safety.
A long battle polonged
At last all terrorists were caught.
We salute those responsible for this
Those who bravely till the end fought.
We all are proud of them.
We'll never forget their sacrifice.
Remembering their sacrifice,
Even now tears fill our eyes.
