A Dream In The Distance Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

A Dream In The Distance

Rating: 5.0

'You won't be led to hell! '

'Well? Are you sure about it? '
Eyes widening she asked

I nodded in the affirmative

She moved a bit closer-
Hugged my arms

'How sweet of you to say that!
Heaven indeed! '
She exclaimed

I kept smiling
Watching her eyes try
To transcend distances

A new hell, perhaps, could be
On the build
Until then she is safe

Forget heaven!
I am not going to make a hell
Out of the present moment
Let her travel, in her dreams
And let me remain
In my peace, here

Heaven or Hell, it is right here, on this very Earth. Don't be swayed by promises otherwise. Good one, Venkat.5*

We could never sway a mind fixed with a different dream.
