It's actually a song I wrote a while ago.
The rain was just the rhythm, the drops were full of woe.
Each of them were words, I thought of edgar allen poe.
And as they bounced off of the pavement not a single dropp was wasted
Each of them were special they had their very own place and
I thought that they could fall down and wash all of our faces
or creat the perfect scene and then i would just embrace it.
Sitting on a front porch waiting for a natural disaster
I wanted it all to endand i just wanted no after.
The rain just fell harder so I started to play faster
I thought of that room and I thought of all it's laughter
I thought of how I felt and i thought it didn't matter.
I thought I'd make it stop, but i started thinking faster.
And in all of this uproar I saw a bird upon a wire.
He was drowning off his sorrows he had my very same desire.
We sat and we were chattin for quite a bit of while.
Both of us were laughin In a manic kind of style.
And i've been praying the tornado just won't miss my town
And i'm standing on a building watching everybody drown
And i wanted to be the reason you'd never have to frown
But the wind took me away and you didn't make a sound
And this place just keeps on flooding, I think it's time to build an ark
But the gods have remained silent they've just left us in the dark
And you could find them in a chapel, in an alley or a park
They've been begging for forgiveness and you left them in the dark.
And no matter how bad things can get, you've got to try and smile
Cause i've had a deathrow drive for miles and i smiled all the while
And when something should destroy me or make me feel quite sad
I just put it off as imaginary and i think of the good times we've all had.
And I watched as all the lights past, as they rolled me down the hall
and each one was a number in a countdown to the end of it all
And I layed listening to a song, that made it seem alright.
Everything was fantastic and death was just turning off the light.
And they pumped that drug inside me, and everything did slow.
Everything went dark i learned something I didn't want to know.
I never felt as lonely, It was just me and my thoughts alone
Death was just a dead end and I had no place to go.
All of this took a part of me, I feel much less alive
Nothing seems too sad to me there's no tingle left in my spine.
And their screaming at the world everything will be just fine
I just laugh at the idea of it and everyone believes the lie.
They've been begging for forgiveness and your change and you left them in the dark.
