A Gift - Poem by Candice LeBlanc

A gift to the world
Taken away
By that terrible man
On that awful day
A gift to the world
Taken away
Destroyed by itself
Due to that awful day
A gift to the world
Almost taken way
Due to those terrible
Awful days
A gift to the world
Repaired and new
Thank the higher beings
For letting us keep that gift
For that gift
So wonderful so pure
Warmed our hearts
with it's great allure
And that gift
Changed my world
Brought me a gift
That I could never have hoped for
And that gift
Helped me to see
That every little gift is precious
And should never be let go
Because you never know
When that little gift
Will be taken way
On some awful
Terrible day.
