A Lake And A Fairy Boat Comments

Rating: 3.0
A lake and a fairy boat
To sail in the moonlight clear, -
And merrily we would float
From the dragons that watch us here!

A great poem that takes the reader to the days of childhood when fairy tales and Lullaby made the days.

' Red rubies should deck thy hands, And diamonds should be thy dower - But fairies have broke their wands, And wishing has lost its power! ' is excellent. Nice poem.Like to read again and again. Thanks for sharing.

We like to hear about fairy boat to sail in the moonlight. At clear night we perceive its clear picture and motion. An amazing imagery is powerfully drawn in this poem. Lake and fairy boat are associated each other in joy and grief of life. An excellent poem this is....10

My father used to sing this as a boy. It was a song he learned at school in about the early 1920's. Does anyone know who might have set the poem to music, and/or where it could be obtained?
