A Letter To God The Son Poem by Sanu Jha

A Letter To God The Son

O my Saviour, You're the King of kings,
You have redeemed us through Your sacrifice.
You walked on earth, and we didn't recognise,
Forgive us Lord. We accused You, of false
Allegations, we arrested You in the Garden
Of Gethsemane. At night we gave Your disciple
Thirty coins of silver, to betray You. O my Lord,
How can You still forgive, how can You still
Love your betrayers? You healed the sick,
You gave sight to the blind, you made the
Lame walk, you resurrected the dead, and we
Still didn't recognise You? Born of virgin Mary,
You humbled Yourself. You are the good shepherd,
Who looks for the lost sheep while leaving the
Flock behind. O our Lord, You chose to walk
On the streets of Jerusalem. You chose
To not to have a single denarius, not to have
A roof over your head, and not even clothes.
Still You are, but fully God and fully human,
My Lord, You were there before Abraham,
You were there before Adam, because You are
The Word of God. Everything that God speaks
Is through You, my Lord. Still You chose to not
To call on the angels, You chose love over sword.
O my Lord, You healed that guard's ear, even
When they were arresting You. You let us crucify
You on that cross. Your own people betrayed You,
But You still forgave everyone. We chastised You,
You forgave us. We nailed You, You forgave us.
You were accused by thieves, but You promised
Them Paradise. You died, but You asked Your Father
To forgive us. Between those three days, You
Descended to hell, to redeem Your people who were
Waiting for You. O my Lord, Your love never ceases. You rose from the dead, You still forgave us.
My Lord, You even promised us to take us back
To Your home. What can we ask more from You?
