A Living Drought Poem by Keegan Cooke

A Living Drought

Rating: 4.5

I give in
I give up
I surrender

I'm done
I can't resist
I can't struggle

I can't persist
This isn't fun
My heart is cleft

My legs can't run
I have nothing left
The weight has won

My knees have collapsed
Make it fast
My number's up

My time has passed
I've fallen in a hole
Too deep to get out

I feel so cold
I'm a living drought
