A Nightjar in My Garden

Weeding my garden while the weather was nice
A rustling of dead leaves; a pleasant surprise

Nightjar....! I am hearing of such a thing and seeing its photo for the first time in my life! What wonders of life live and thrive unseen! Well camouflaged for predators to confound Perfectly they blended into the background! How true....! What perfect camouflage! A very interesting and informative poem for me! You have described her and her brood so well! I must now search for more pictures of a night Jar! A 10

A wonderful poem, my friend! I took advantage of nice, late winter weather and did yard work as well, but found no such surprises, just a sore back and some blisters : -)
