A Pair Of Ocean Eyes - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

Five oceans captured
In a pair of restless eyes
Rippling with her wealth of emotions
As tides of undulating mirth
Enwrap her blossoming world
Her breathtaking eyes
A kaleidoscope of sapphires
Like the boundless blue of the Pacific
With a trace of frothy white
Like the cold Arctic waters
Harboring her rich diversity of emotions
Like the untamed Atlantic
Interlaced in virgin fervor
Like the Indian empress
Shrouded in latent mysticism
Like the uncharted Antarctic
As her endearing pupils dilate
Amidst springs of aquamarine irises
To engrave on the murals of her retina
Providence's masterpiece
The ocean in her truest blue
