A Place Called Paradise - Poem by Vera Hernandez

Trotting along this snowy path,
wandering aimlessly through the night.
Feeling restless, hungry, but determined,
searching for this place of true light.

A place where water flows,
a place that is plentiful
a place where trees grow,
a place that is beautiful

A place so grand,
a place to runaway to
a place to see everyone again,
a place that is not solitude.

A place that never dies,
a place of no hate & lies
a place for my kind,
a place called Paradise.

To others, it is a dream
a story that have been told
many times, but it's real
for it called out the spirit within me.

I will find it someday
with others or alone,
I can no longer stay
in this world which was called home.

Onward, to the place called Paradise.
