A Poem on Canadian Elections 2015
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
It was a fight between the Conservatives, the Liberals and the NDP
All the three were filled with might
And they had the Prime Minister's post in sight
And Election night was not that long
For Justin Trudeau had fought long and hard at the battleground
And it was the "song of freedom" of democracy that kept hopes alive for a better government
And kept everyone in Canada saying Netherlands was wrong (*)and escort services and prostitution had become illegal (*Article 273f (formerly 250a)of the Dutch Penal Code was designed to distinguish between voluntary and involuntary prostitution. Those who chose sex work as an occupation were to be given the same rights as other workers, while those individuals who coerced or exploited prostitutes were to be severely punished (up to 18 years' imprisonment in aggravated circumstances (Ref: Research Publications: Parliament of Canada) .)
And I thanked my stars that my one time employment of a male escort in a demi bra and a thong was in 2013 when it was all legitimate
The victory came to the most victorious, Justin Trudeau, of the Liberals
Whose "meteoric trajectory" had an upward swing not detected in the other two candidates, Stephen Harper, the incumbent and the NDP leader, Thomas Mulcair,
And coming back to myself, a favourite subject but not always used, I say that PM Justin Trudeau has shown a refractory side
But on the other hand, I have successfully generated endeavours in my manufacturing factory at home
And I take encouragement in the fact that the most victorious like PM Trudeau take notice
Of the most zealous and the assiduous like me who engage in the most arduous tasks like himself.
