A Romantic Night - Poem by Gideon Ryan

Me and Mary all dancin’ in the street
We’re all smiles in spite of the heat
People say we’re crazy maybe cause of the rain
Maybe not
But we still don’t feel no pain

She’s her own girl
And I wish I was her one and only
Though it’s far from true
I’ll tell her Im not blue

I fake the smile
That great Oscar loser smile
When hard work doesn’t pay off
And everything doesn’t work out

Love is lost tonight…and so am I
It took a girl to break my heart
A lady to kick my soul
And it’ll take a woman to make me whole
