The humorous Laurie is every bit as entertaining as the romantic Laurie. I would not mind having the whole collection, truly..(smile) (Report)Reply

What more can I say in the face of such witty and wily poetic craft except well done-and hard luck! (Report)Reply

This is an unexpected change of tone and, for me, illumines the futility of the attempted flight and the reality of the unescapable.

my face squashed deep in mattress,
As one sat, upon me 'ead,
    The blunt javelin was lofted,
    then stabbed into a cheek,
    with face immersed in mattress,

A lighthearted piece of self deprecation delivered in a jolly rhythm and with a sharply pointed wit. This silly poem contains more than an ounce of truth, I'm sure. Great fun. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ (Report)Reply

I love it! Absolutely and completely. Who wouldn't? The rhyme lets it romp along and I did with you, but I didn't slip like you. That would be foolish as I wouldn't want to be captive of such Tomfoolery. This had made my day! Absolutely wonderful work and more of it please! Karin Anderson (Report)Reply

OMG As humerous as this Poem is.......
Myself being a Needle Phobic Knows
it is not at all a laughing matter.
    But one of unbelievable fear.
I actually have nightmares about it now and then.
When I had My First child
I had a Nurse Like Hattie Jaques from the
Carry on Films literally hold me down
so they could inser a Drip into my arm
    Bloody Nightmare.
In my dreams though they dont get me LOL

This is so funny :) and i do sympathize as i am a needlephobic. Even as a child the nurses knew to sit me down before a shot as i would faint lol. Well done and your comedic talent shone thru. Who'd 'ave thunk it? lol (Report)Reply
