A Spider's Tale Poem by Tex T Sarnie

A Spider's Tale

Rating: 5.0

When I was a spider
my world was upside down.
To you I was on the ceiling,
but to me I was on the ground.

Suspended from my thread
the draughts would carry me
from one place to another,
I never know what I'll see.

I am of course a predator
and I prepare my traps to catch.
My webs are coated with a sticky gum,
so my prey stay firmly attached.

Like you, my food is my first thought
and I like it to be kept warm and fresh.
So I cover my prey with a protective blanket,
which enables me to dine from one day to the next.
