A Spirit's Poem - Poem by Maha Moustafa

In a cold windy night
The girl was walking in the dark
with no light beam
She saw the sky
it was dark and cloudy
the moon was waiting for her
a full moon shined so white
in a sky full of darkness
having no stars that night
she looked strong....standing still on her feet
she was listening to her favorite songs
there seemed to be hidden secrets
in her eyes that sparkled with tears
She never dropped any of them.

The wind was blowing strong
flying her hair, hiding her face
She stood staring at no where
In her own world fading
seemed like drowning somewhere
I remember her as a rose
a dancing ballerina that swayed everywhere
flooding the world with happiness and hope
she was held by her love
I can see her now strong, but really weak inside
hiding everything away
saving it and keeping to herself

she only shared her tears with the rain and her story with the poems
her thought with the moon, and her words were left to music.
She seemed determined, yet deeply lost
if I were a bird, I would fly away searching for her love
if I was a letter, I'd send myself to destiny
asking it to slow down
but if I was her
I would have never been able
to stay up so right
living on dreams and memories that never end
