A Summer Morn Poem by David Harris

A Summer Morn

Rating: 4.5

Season of mist and mellow fruit,
Of blossom and scented air.
Bird song and busy bee,
seem to inhabit everywhere
Grass green horizon,
velvet blue morning sky.
A little bird with a sweet song,
is singing on wing high in the sky.
Dew laden petals sparkle,
under the new day’s sun.
While somewhere in the distance,
children are laughing and having fun.

A fresh and richly evocative portrait. A perfect antidote for a grey winter's day. jim

Alicia - you left out a 'd' in your last sentence. Polish, polish. polish!

Never mind the polish! I like it in its raw and natural state. This is an uplifting poem, David. Brings a ray of sunshine to our miserable British winter. I can almost hear those bees..... Love, Fran xxx

reading this makes you indeed feel as if you are in that garden, and not the one outside my door that the rain is pouring down into
