Absent Vampires - Poem by Tim Kimball

Not arriving,
For fear of absent vampires,
That spilled over
To the love you wanted to express.

The blade of direction
That ran errands
For the love
That you thought you lost,
Yet it was a love of yourself
That got lost lost in the abyss;
Into a desolate wasteland
Of the ego,
That was left
By the side of the road;
Losing your identiity
To the tone of your
Grey, worn-out sweater.
