Abuse - Poem by Samantha Desmond

I had no idea,
the pain she went through,
each and every night.

I had no idea,
how well she could hide,
the bruises never seen.

I had no idea,
the jealous rage he had,
that he couldn't control.

I had no idea,
she was calling out for help,
to someone in this world.

I had no idea,
his rage would get so bad,
and she would finally go numb.

I had no idea,
how bad everything had gotten,
her face never to be seen again.

I had no idea.
