Again And Again/I See Them In Their Youth - Poem by Shalom Freedman

Again and again
I see them in their youth
So full of life and hope and beauty
And again and again
I meet them in their worn-out old age
And I am filled with such sadness
For all of us
For life itself
Which always goes from Youth to Age
And relents only with Death
Which is no balm
And not a happy answer either
