All I Have Is My Soul - Poem by sarah mcdonald

When you look I'm still the same
I still have those big blue eyes
That long blonde hair, that button nose
But are you really looking?
Do you even notice?
Do you even hear me?
I try to speak, to call your name
I even have to shout, you don’t turn,
Don’t even move I know now that I'm alone

If you take away my voice
All I have is my soul
All I need is a friend
So I'm not alone
If you take away my life
Where will I go? , what will I do?
And them too?
Will they move on? and leave me here?

I scream and shout but nothing still
he looks so sad I want to help
I see the tears run down his mouth
I feel his pain but why can't I help
I move closer and closer I touch his face
I feel him shiver but he just stares
His looking at someone

I turn make hast but theirs her face
She still has the same big blue eyes,
The same long blonde hair, the button nose
But pale and scared
I know her now she's me but how?
I feel my heart brake in two
I cry, I scream what can I do
But sit and stare and wonder why?

If you take away my voice
All I have is my soul
All I need is a friend
So I'm not alone
If you take away my life
Where will I go? , what will I do?
And them too?
Will they move on? and leave me here?
