All I Want Poem by Randy McClave

All I Want

I don't really ask for much
Just for air, my health and such,
And if I needed to ever make a stand
I never ask for another person's hand.
I am not at all selfish or ever greedy
So, I help the poor and also the needy,
And I always give up my place in line
So, a child would not have to whine.
I never wish upon a lonely star
Because dreams are always to far,
And I was taught never ever to put myself first
As I don't like being hated, or cursed.
And when unto God that I pray
It's never for me in the prayer that I say,
I only truly ask for peace and love
When I speak only to God, who sits above.
For a woman I will always open the door
For the elderly, I will help them do their chore,
And if I ever take anyone out to eat
It is always my pleasure, and also my treat.
Now, I have a want and a need and a desire
Which burns my heart like an open fire,
My yearning and craving is wanting to ignite
So, please God, let her come over tonight.

Please let her come over tonight. Great sudden ending to a poem of self-denial
