All The Way - Poem by AnneMarie Hewlett

2 years and a month I know
I’ve been hearing you asking me
“How long do I have to wait? ”
“And how long do I have to keep on suffering? ”

Just kiss these lips and just hold my hand
I want you to take me for who I am
I need you to understand
Because taking the next step is not in my plan

I might let you touch me
I might let you come over tonight
I might let you kiss me
But we’re not going all the way tonight

I can always tease you
I’ll squeeze you tight
I might let you kiss me
But we’re not going all the way tonight

You’re friends are laughing at your waiting
Saying you should find someone else
But can a girl give you the tender touch
That I seem to own

Patience is what you got to have
you know it takes a lot to be my man
I’m not that much of tease
But I love seeing you beg, shouting “Please? ! ”

I might let you touch me
I might let you come over tonight
I might let you kiss me
But we’re not going all the way tonight

I can always tease you
I’ll squeeze you tight
I might let you kiss me
But we’re not going all the way tonight

You know I love you
You just have to know
That if your not willing to wait
Than you've got to go

Don’t stare at the calendar
It’s not going to go that fast
I promise your time will come
You just have to wait and see

I might let you touch me
I might let you come over tonight
I might let you kiss me
But we’re not going all the way tonight

I can always tease you
I’ll squeeze you tight
I might let you kiss me
But we’re not going all the way tonight

Take you your time and just wait
One day, we’ll go all the way
