Aluta Continua - Poem by Tosin Abegunde
In this struggle we dine,
On its soil we'll shine,
Though come a derogatory praise
For our solidarity race.
Before our adversaries we'll reign,
Having plotted for refreshing rain
By gladiators writing for a trace
Even when its termed a craze.
Be it sheer ignorance they feign,
On their ass we'll strike a cane,
Suddenly we'll scare the in a chase
Their doom is our collective praise.
Continually we'll break this chain
Even though our hope is slain
By the crooks in this place
That painstaking watch our pace.
To those that fell off this train
Shake off your bruise and pain
And continue in the space
For slow and steady win the race.
Those three CON's we'll maintain
Its creed, faith and oath we retain.
For their threats we set up a case
Like an embroidery on their lace.
Glorious crown I'll surely obtain
As long as this creed I sustain
He that joins me in this race
Fame of rainbow he'll embrace.
'Aluta continua' we say in pain
'Victoria acerta' we have as gain
Terrific, deadly and costly it looks,
Our victory is sure in this cause!
