Amputated Dreams Poem by Dr Kamran Haider Bukhari

Amputated Dreams

Rating: 4.5

Cracks in my ugly mind
Broken hearts of egoistic sighs
Looking down
The streets of deserted highs
Dancing legs
And mystic eyes
Floor is all wet
But she is dancing wise
Please save me Lord
From this agonizing noise
O’ my God!
Either You are a tough examiner
Or I suppose to fall after every rise
My mother wants to see me
As if I am of a baby size
She wants to hold me tight
Against her bosom
For always
Look
There is blood everywhere
She is dead
And my dreams
Both lower limbs amputated
Still a Mona Lisa smile
Dances on the dry lips
Of our dreams

Your spirit has not been amputated. You have written a remarkable tribute.

a well thought out poem...the imagery of terror you bring in here is applicable to many a motherlands of many of us here, Kamran...despite all these terrors around us, we prefer a smile Mona Lisa style...who knows what behind? 10
