An Account Of Failure Poem by Keegan Coutriers

An Account Of Failure

O’Dreary affliction of life, to sorrow we thus entreat
For kindness to be bestow’d upon this weaken’d vessel,
Honor, pride and contentment seeketh I of esteem’d worth,
So labors the common soul for a merit that bequeaths his value,
When deeds afore beget unfavoured imminences,
And rivalry of corporeal forces inflict derision on unfound gain,
Let truth not be revealed to this opulent mind,
That wanders untouched through dreams and imaginings
Of prosperous life, dismayed truly by a tentative realm
Which extends to the boundaries of reason’s origin,
Spiritless he meander’s, back to his troubled life,
Never to be heard of again.
