This also reminds me of a a weekend spent with Shiva devotees in the 1970's I have no idea why that weekend flashed in my mind as I read this. This is full of wonderous images of India and when I read your work I become strangly homesick I say strangly because India is not my homeland. It is my obsession I think. I had this vision in the Devipuram Temple(The old temple on the hillock) when my eyes first laid upon that holy Phallus Idol of Lord Shiva. Now you brought that imagery right into my inner eye. Thank you.

Your bring out the surreal experience with terrific imagery Indira...You are the mistress of teh surreal. I remember reading another poem of yours written earlier on surrealism..which was equally evocative...
