Ananda Siva Natanam 9 - Grace Of Siva Through Pure Love - Poem by Dr. Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Siva gives an impression of a
Stern demeanour,
Stoic expression,

Can Siva be approached?
Doesn't He look so distant and unapproachable!
Is it possible to know Siva only through austere penance?
Is it possible to win Siva's heart effortlessly?
Is it possible to attain Siva's Grace?
The answer in ‘Yes'! Siva can be easily pleased.

The Puranas say that He is ‘Ashutoshi'!
A God who is friendly, affable and accessible!
Siva is pleased even when you offer him a leaf,
Siva is happy even when you gift him with forest flowers,
Siva is overjoyed when you offer him wild berries and fruits,
Siva is jubilant when you sing and dance in praise of Him!

To attain Siva's Grace,
To dance in His heart,
There is no need for rigorous yogic exercises,
There is no need for long meditation or severe penance,
To attain His Grace there is only one condition,
That is Pure love! More Love! Only Love! ! !

Poet's Notes about The Poem

A photo clicked by my student Rajeshwary, yesterday, during our dance class. Love is the highest criteria to attain Siva's grace.

A lovely awakening to love through the first impression of a stern detached countenance, movingly and easily swayed to love through forest flowers and gentle tokens of natural affection despite an intimidating, austere visage. Lovely! Great Siva! Astounding photograph of a sterling dance pose too! (Report) Reply
