Now lookie here what do I see
Someone reading my poetry
Could it be they like my verse
Or cannot think of any worse
Do they feel the words I write
Can my verses add some light
Will they open up their mind
And in my verses answers find
Can I help to release their pain
Or humble one so falsely vain
Can my verse make spirits high
Or simply bring a ho hum sigh
Do my words make you think
And comfort you at your brink
Can they help you see the good
I so believe they simply could
I write my verses to help us all
Face our problems standing tall
To turn away is to show defeat
And failures taste is bittersweet
So I might write a verse or two
That may be helpful just for you.
“closing thought”
Before you act think it through
Suffer not haste for what you do
