Articles Indefinite - Poem by Sean Godley
maybe this displacement brings us home;
familiarity in the strangers face,
generations and their ages roam
within a sterile and unpregnant place.
women bear the future as it scars
like articles indefinite of life
(and consciousness that echoes to the stars;
unspoken wishes of our dead; their strife) .
i saw only their beauty for a time
and drifted free between their burning minds,
until there came the unrelenting chime
of sunlight from the latecomer who blinds.
yet more and more, my blinded friends, it seems
that life’s a series of recurring dreams.
