At Home In The Dark - Poem by Lynzi Berner

How easily we take
things for granted

A light in the dark
A melody in the silence

I remember
being lost
in darkness
Overcome in
the silence

Then a note
A flicker
I was saved

Then just as suddenly
The lights dimmed
The music faded

The shadows come in to stay

The darkness always welcomes you
