Backlash Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

'Honest dealing without putting on mask I may suffer heavily on this count Difficulties may surface and pressure mounts' - The world at large is holding this view and it is an incorrect view. Honesty is the best policy. All of us have the concept of Honesty but the problem with us is that we expect this from the rest of the world in the first place. This will not work. The world is also expecting the same from us in the first place and do we bother to exhibit it on our own? Can we tolerate the dishonesty of our children? Can they tolerate the dishonesty of their parents? The same law applies to the whole world. It is always the best to take the initiative measures from our own side. This applies not in the case of honesty but in all of the qualities of the heart - love, kindness, empathy etc. The entire world is only in the expectation of the receipt of these and it is not bothered to give out in the first place. We need a reflection on this subject. Another thing. We are not going to learn lessons out of our setbacks and shortcomings and blows. If we can see our blows as a witness, it may be purposeful. It is just like saying that war is a must to learn the value of peace. Even without war we can remain at peace. This is the point. Even without having blows, we can lead a peaceful, dignified life. Blows are not in the material situations but in the interpretation of the situations. How we take on is most important. Our Vedanta does not say that blows are necessary to avoid blows in future. Practically we don't learn any lessons out of our blows. If then, we would have said goodbye to Harthals, Bundhs, strikes and the like very long time ago. This really captures all of the struggles that one can face during their lives. Put together very well and the rhyming scheme was well placed as well. May you be successful with publishing your memoir.

Wished smooth passage and no down fall Prayed almighty not to face any distress call Childhood passed off easily under the protection Parents looked after well without my action I was lucky to have their protective shield Seeds were growing and offering high yield Horizon seemed to me vast and open Blue sky and earth were no less than heaven I could think of major leap forward life moves with time in progress under umbrella of both parents, guiding and educating...., one is lucky to have all the best in the life, and gets able to stand erect in the society.............wonderful poem
