Be Yourself Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Be Yourself

I learned a truth, long time ago,
To let my own strong spirit glow.
Not chasing beauty's fleeting trend,
But loving me, until the end.

To stand up tall, with head held high,
Accepting me, beneath the sky.
This strength I found, this happy place,
Helps me to run my own life's race.

No need to please, no chains to bind,
My own true self, I leave behind
The need for rules, the judging eye,
Let others be, as they go by.

Be yourself, don't hide away,
Let your own inner sunshine play.
Love those who love your heart so true,
And be that loving back to you.

Your special soul, a gift divine,
Let only your own spirit shine.
The way you are, is meant to be,
Live free, be you, eternally.
