Because - Poem by Diantha Gray

Not because you have to
not even because you want to
and for the sake of argument
don't dare say I made you

Because....

for this to happen
without an explanation
would be a lot easier to explain
to my reflection

Because....

I find it easier to lie to myself
than to anyone else
Even strangers know my truth
strangers just like you

Because....

I don't want you to ruin this night
with a belief that this may turn logical
No, not even eventually
I don't dare develop a pattern

Because....

once things start falling into place
is when you can make sense out of chaos
Everything starts to happen for a reason
and that really makes no sense at all

Because....

all I really want
is for you to stay
Just for tonight
sneak away as I dream

Not because you have to
not even because you want to
and for the sake of argument
don't dare say I made you
