Because Of You - Poem by Cally A. Nixon
All I had to do,
was walk across Leon and into your house...
Just so I could,
let some of this out.
To just sit and talk,
for and hour or two...
I woiuldn't have gotten through it,
if it hadn't of been for you.
You were the reason why,
I started to get higher grades...
You made me pay attention,
and encouraged me to strive for A's.
But in the end,
my earlier grades won out...
It was my fault I failed,
and had no reason to pout.
You tried so hard,
to get me out of my mess...
I realize now just how much you cared,
when I couldn't have cared less.
It's the thought and memory,
of how much you cared...
That keeps me moving toward a future,
that, thanks to you, can be more than my imagination.
