Being Human - Poem by kripa rai

Being human

We come into this world
We say, we believe, & then contradict,
We forget, forgive, & then remind
We love & hate people
We unite, blame & then separate
We make a few mistakes, learn & repeat them
We know & don’t know what we want,
We say killing is inhuman & then we kill
We talk religion & don’t follow it’s teachings
Though words of every holy is same we differentiate them too
We say we love but does self-less love exist
We think & think & then give up
We laugh at others & cry for ourselves
We ignore & forget but fail to accept,
& then I think what if we could,
Accept others & accept ourselves
Coz that’s whats gonna help us grow
& direct me & you to us
& us to being more human
& learn to love if not selfless love.
