Believe In Me - Poem by Justin Coley

Eyes that appear to be dark and questionable

Who am I to make a judement

For the truth behind them were strong and unbearable

My thoughts had come to be less abundant

Righteous words and the beat of my heart

Seemed so undoubtful from the start

Clinging to what I feel so deep and real

I offered my heart for you to steal

To this very day I've not felt the touch

I suppose I'm the bread without a crust

Who was I to ask for this much

For what I've sought was more than lust

I am kind and simple, yet so unimaginably complicated

Maybe you'd think me just one sophisticated

I ask no more than for you to open your heart

As mine has been open from the start
